Furniture are the tools that are useful for
residential purposes or other uses like commercial uses. This furniture may be
used for students that are living out of university hostels, off-campus
students.

There is several furniture that are important for off
campus University students which can help a student live and study effectively.
There are as follows;
i. i). Desk and chair for studying
A student should have a desk and chair for studying in
which its size should depends on the number of house dwellers basically should
not exceed two students. Normal size of desk may be 1500mm by 1000m, this would
be full enough table for a student to study in off campus dwelling. For better performance
of the chair should be made of timber materials with good paints A desk should
work effectively with its designed chair, the chair should also be made of
timber. These tables may cost up to Tanzanian shillings 35,000/=. Consider the following image;

ii. ii). Bedding like sofa bed and pirate bed.
A bed is important for sleeping in the night as well as
resting in the morning. There are two types of bed that may be used for off
campus students, these are;
-Bed sofa, it is covered with good covering like that
used in sofa, that is when it called bed sofa. It may cost up to Tanzanian
shillings 250,000/= depending on client’s requirements
- Pirate beds, this is not covered but it looks good as
that bed sofa. It may cost up to 150,000/=
iii. iii). Clothes Storage.
A student in university level needs a cabinet for
storing his or her clothes, since in most of universities a student is free to
wear any respective clothes there is no uniform clothes among them. Therefore,
such clothes should be stored in proper way so that it creates aesthetic view
of the house. Consider an example below of open cabinet for off campus students
in university levels, it is made off timber materials with paints.
iv. iv). Food containers
Food containing materials are also useful for
university students, because there are sometimes a student may fail to cook
food due to timetable which may not be favourable to students. These food containers
may be made of various materials like plastic and ceramic materials.

v. v). Kitchen utensils
A student needs also kitchen utensils so as to help
him or her in cooking food, Foe example Pans, corkscrew, and potato peeling
tools. These tools are available in cheap prices since it found in almost places.
i. vi). Coffee tables.
A table for getting coffee and other drinks or foods,
this is typically smaller compared to the used for studying. It will be good if
it will have its chair.
ii. vii). Computer Unit
This will be a part of studying table that may be used
for placing a computer, where a student may use his or her computer for
studying or other computer uses like gaming.
iii. viii). Cooking table
Cooking table is the table which has a built-in hole
that may be used to fix a gas cooker or electrical cooker. It is usual placed
in an open space of the room to escape from explosion
iv. ix). Shoe stand.
This is a wooden furniture that may be used for
storing shoes, it is useful for off campus students, it is open so as to allow circulation
of air within the shoe.
v. x). Water storing materials.
This include all utensils that may be used for storing
water, like buckets and dishes. For example a bucket may be used when there
will be no reliable water supply in that street. Also may be used for cleanness.
